Hiking in the Nera River Park
Below are ten different itineraries that vary in duration and difficulty.
Itinerary 1: from Ferentillo to Nicciano
The trail connected Spoleto to Leonessa and Monteleone.
Time required: 2 hours and 30 minutes
Difficulty: easy
Itinerary 2: from Ferentillo to the Abbey of San Pietro in Valle
It partly follows the mule track that went from the Valnerina to Spoleto.
Time required: 7 hours
Difficulty: difficult
Itinerary 3: From Precetto to Umbriano
Passing through Colleponte and along the Nera River: Umbriano is traditionally considered the oldest village in Umbria and is completely uninhabited. It is awaiting restoration.
Time required: a little over an hour

Itinerary 4: from Casteldilago to the Hermitage of Madonna dello Scoglio
The hermitage was built between the 15th and 16th centuries on a site where there was an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
Time required: 1 hour and 45 minutes
Difficulty: easy
Itinerary 5: Mount Pennarossa Loop
It passes through San Liberatore, Collestatte and the Marmore Falls.
Time required: 5 hours

Itinerary 6: from Marmore Falls to Casteldilago
Time required: from 30 minutes to 2 hours
Difficulty: easy
Itinerary 7: from the Falls to Penna dei Cocchi
This trail allows you to see the regulating bridge over the Velino River, known as the Clementine Quarry by Pope Clement VIII. Prior to the restoration of the Quarry, it was designed to regulate the flow of water and prevent flooding.

Itinerary 8: Arrone village
It is dedicated to the village and is above all of archaeological interest.
Time required: just over an hour
Difficulty: easy
Itinerary 9: Polino
From the car park of the hamlet along the ancient mule track, passing by a Franciscan cave you reach Monte Pelosa.
Time required: 4 hours
Difficulty: easy
Itinerary 10: Montefranco-San Mamiliano
It runs along a stretch of the ancient "Via del Ferro," the mining area of Monteleone di Spoleto and Scheggino.
Time required: 3 hours
Difficulty: moderate
